It is a big step from NBA Live 07 which was way to fast and had jagged movements. NBA 08 offers all new modes and features:
FIBA World Championship: Be International teams in the international FIBA tournament, be a international team and challenge all different countries from Spain to USA and many more.
Online leagues: Join an online league with your favourite team and have your name at the top of the leader board. 32 players can join each league so you can all ways use your favorite team.
Dynasty Mode: Choose your team and go to the playoffs to win the title. Send out scouts, choose the training rasheme you want for your players, buy, trade and sign players from different teams and the Free Agents, use the real NBA schedule in your season that the real teams use in their season, has all the new trades and bought players of the NBA.
Training gym: Play while the game loads.

Score a 50 in Slam Dunk Contest (50)
Score a 50 in a slam dunk contest.
Scoring individual record (50)
Have one player score at least 101 points in a solo game against the CPU.
Shoot 100% Free Throws (50)
Have your team shoot 100% from the free throw line in a solo game against the CPU (minimum 10 shots)
Steals individual record (50)
Have one player get at least 12 steals in a solo game against the CPU.
Superstar 3PT Champion (30)
Win the 3PT Shootout vs. the CPU on Superstar difficulty level.
Superstar Slam Dunk Champion (30)
Win the Slam Dunk Contest vs. the CPU on Superstar difficulty level.
The underdog (40)
Pick the lowest rated NBA team and win vs. the CPU as the highest rated team (no special teams).
Triple Double (40)
Have one of your players get a Triple Double in a solo game against the CPU.
Trivia King (30)
Correctly answer a minimum of 3 questions during a single trivia mini-game.
Two 30's (30)
Have two players in your team score at least 30 points in a solo game vs. the CPU.
